Live Music
Red Herring - Andy Brown

10:00 pm - 1:00 am
211 Water Street
529-8455

Maybe it’s the curly locks. Or those blue-green eyes. Maybe even that boyish charm. Or perhaps it’s the emotionally raw vocals, stellar guitar skills, and electrifying performances that get us every time. After a few years of working the circuit as a solo acoustic act, New Brunswick’s Andy Brown has emerged a must-see (and hear) performer on the East coast scene. Touted as a performer that ‘gets into your head and heart’, the 2008 CBC Galaxie Rising Star finalist serves up a contemporary folk rock style all his own, taking you on a lyrical journey that transcends a realm torn between love, happiness, and sorrow. A journey that continues to earn him loyal fans wherever he performs across the country.

Since then, Darrell’s been quietly at work out on the farm, creating and recording in a relaxed digital home project studio. Darrell’s lyric sense of music lures the listener into the simple beauty of the acoustic guitar, and sometimes into colourful splashes of electric and virtual technology. The poetry is forged into sure melodies by a strong and distinctive voice.
